Art Requirements
Mac or PC art is acceptable as long as it follows the art requirements.
PROGRAMS:
Adobe Illustrator v. CS3 version 12.0 or earlier – These are vectorized files that we are ABLE to manipulate and color separate if needed. This is the type of file we prefer. Ask them to convert any fonts to Outlines.

Adobe Indesign v. CS3 version 12.0 or earlier – We need the supporting placed images and fonts sent along with the Indesign file. ****We do not except True Type fonts (these are PC formatted fonts that are not compatible with our Mac’s), supporting placed images must follow Illustrator, Photoshop & Freehand Guidelines.

Adobe Photoshop v. CS3 version 5.0 or earlier – These are pixel (photo) images that we are UNABLE to manipulate if needed.
- If the art is spot colors with no screentints, needs to be saved as a bitmapped tiff or eps image at approx. 800 pixels per inch.
- If the art is spot colors with screentints, needs to be saved as a grayscale tiff or eps image at approx. 800 pixels per inch.
- If this is a 4 C/P job, the art needs to be saved as a CMYK tiff or eps file and be at the size printing with at least 300 pixels per inch.
(we can convert RGB file to CMYK, however this will alter the color)

Freehand v. MX version 11.0 or earlier – These are vectorized files that we are ABLE to manipulate if needed. This type of file is preferred. Ask them to convert any fonts to Paths.

QuarkXpress v. 7.0 or earlier – We need the supporting placed images and fonts sent along with the Quark file.
****We do not except True Type fonts (these are PC formatted fonts that are not compatible with our Mac’s), supporting placed images must follow Illustrator, Photoshop & Freehand Guidelines.

SPECS FOR ALL TYPES OF ELECTRONIC ART:
- We can accept high resolution pdf files
- We can accept art via email and CD-Rom
- Compressed files should be sent in Stuffit or PK Zip
- Keep all text and art/logos 3/32" from all cuts.
- If art has bleeds, it needs to bleed past the cuts 1/8"
- Lines and imprint need to be at least .5pt thick so it does not break up or fill in.
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS, SOLUTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS:
Convert fonts to outlines/paths/curves and saving terminology-
- Illustrator: convert fonts to Outlines and save as an eps file.
- Freehand: convert fonts to Paths and export as an eps file.
We DO NOT accept, Excel, Publisher or Powerpoint files.
Vectorized art - is a file that we are able to manipulate if it does not meet our specs. This would consist of trapping, color separating and resizing if needed.
